About The Father’s Porch

Welcome to The Father’s Porch.

This is a place for the weary parent, the tearful intercessor, and the one still watching the road—praying that the child they love finds their way home.

Inspired by Luke 15:20, The Father’s Porch is more than just a website or a blog. It’s a resting place for the heart. A spiritual front porch where hope flickers like a porch light left on, and prayers rise like morning mist.

Here, you’ll find devotionals, stories, scripture reflections, and letters from one parent to another—written in the waiting, through the weeping, and anchored in faith.

I’m Sherian—writer, wife, mother, grandmother, and someone still watching the path with light still on. I’ve sat on the porch—literally and spiritually—crying out to God, clinging to His Word, and asking “What do I do while I wait?”

This space was born from those moments. It’s for anyone who has loved deeply, hurt quietly, and waited faithfully.

You are not alone here.
Your prayers matter.
And the light is still on.

Come sit a while.
